SOD TURNS ON MANDENI YOUTH ENTERPRISE PARK
On 19 August 2020, Mandeni Local Municipality held the official sod turning ceremony of the Mandeni Youth Enterprise Park (YEP).
YEP is set to unlock business opportunities and allow young people to become contributors in the mainstream economy. As part of the proceedings, there was also an introduction of the constructor to the Mathonsi Tribal Council. MV SSSS Trading Enterprise JV will oversee the construction of YEP.
This project is set to be completed in three months from the day construction begins at a cost of R3.8 million, 30% of which is the value of sub-contracting for the project.
Speaking at the launch, Her Worship the Deputy Mayor of Mandeni Local Municipality, Cllr. Phindile Sishi lauded this new project citing it will go a long way in ensuring that young people are catered for.
“The youth is our future, if we equip them with necessary skills and provide them with opportunities they will thrive, this in turn helps us all. We must remember that there are a lot of you headed households in Mandeni. These young people have a lot of people depending on them”
